The High Court in its order has asked to take fresh steps for the recruitment of teachers. Partha Chatterjee, who was the Education Minister in the Mamata Banerjee government, along with many officers and leaders of the ruling TMC are in jail in connection with the teacher recruitment scam of West Bengal. Calcutta High Court had handed over the investigation of teacher recruitment scam to CBI. ED had also started investigation of money laundering in this case. After which continuous action was taken against the accused. In the teacher recruitment scam, ED had also raided the locations of many people including businessmen and chartered accountants in Kolkata.
Calcutta High Court has had a strict stance in the teacher recruitment scam since the beginning. At the same time, when ED raided the house of Partha Chatterjee and his actor friend Arpita Mukherjee, huge wealth was recovered. Then the strings of teacher recruitment scam started coming together. Mamata government minister Bratya Basu also came into this matter. Bratya Basu also had to go to jail. Many TMC leaders were also arrested for their role as middlemen in the teacher recruitment scam. Now Calcutta High Court has canceled the entire recruitment process. Now everyone’s eyes are on whether Mamata Banerjee’s government challenges this order in the Supreme Court or not.
