It was further alleged that an employee of the said company, in exchange of bribe for the Project Outer Ring Road, approached the General Manager of NHAI and Project Director, PIU, Nagpur to settle the pending matters including processing of pending bills and issue of completion certificate. CBI had laid a trap
Further, it is also alleged that the bribe amount of Rs 25 lakh was to be delivered to the said General Manager and Project Director, NHAI, PIU, Nagpur. The CBI laid a trap and arrested the NHAI General and Project Manager after a private company employee paid a bribe of Rs 20 lakh.
More than Rs 1 crore seized so far
At present, searches are being conducted at various offices and residences of the accused including Nagpur, Bhopal and Harda. During the search, so far Rs 1.10 crore (approximately) in cash including trap money has been recovered along with other incriminating documents, digital devices etc. Further investigation is ongoing.
