Vikash Pandey/Satna: The summer season has arrived. In such a situation, people have started buying glasses to protect their eyes from hot wind and strong sunlight. Anyway, some people use colored glasses in fashion. But, it has been seen many times that the local glasses available on the roadside or in shops, instead of keeping our eyes safe, put us in trouble. Doctors even say that wearing cheap and low quality glasses can lead to the risk of color blindness.
Ophthalmologist Dr. Nanda Mishra told Local 18 that in the era of fashion, many times we buy cheap and colorful glasses to collect glasses or to save some money. We get these glasses at a very low price. But, due to these colorful cheap glasses, the eyes may have to suffer huge damage. These can cause allergies like dark spots around the eyes, watery eyes, red eyes, itching inside or outside the eyes.
Headache and dizziness also occur
Dr. Nanda told Local 18 that it is better not to wear sunglasses at all rather than wearing low quality sunglasses, because these cheap sunglasses can also cause problems like headache, dizziness.
Safety is important along with fashion
UV radiation is three times more in summer than in winter. In such a situation, it becomes necessary to use sunglasses during summer. But, many times youth use fake brands or cheap glasses in the name of fashion and style. Which is not good for the eyes at all. Therefore, use branded and good sunglasses, which keep our eyes safe by reflecting ultraviolet rays.
Tear cells, membranes can get damaged
Dr. Nanda told Local 18 that apart from harsh sunlight having adverse effects on our eyesight, dust particles also damage the retina. Due to this, the tear cell or tear layer formed over the eyes starts breaking or getting damaged due to the ultraviolet rays of the sun, due to which the cornea of the eyes also gets equally damaged by the UV rays.
