Regarding the Lok Sabha elections, every party, every leader and every seat is being discussed in detail on News 18. The picture of elections changing every moment is being shown on the website of AnyTV. But apart from all this, the team of News 18 India is touring across the country to know what is going on in the mind of a voter, what the voters of a particular area think about their leader. In this episode, we are introducing you to the voters of Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat and the election activity going on there. Voting will be held here in the first phase on April 19.
Chhindwara seat of Madhya Pradesh is the only seat of Congress in the entire state. Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat is the traditional seat of former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath. Kamal Nath’s family has been in possession of this seat for a long time. At present, Kamal Nath’s son Nukulnath is the MP here and is contesting on behalf of Congress for the second time. Umakant Bandewar from Bahujan Samaj Party and Bunty Vivek Sahu from Bharatiya Janata Party are in the fray against Nukulnath. In this way, a total of 15 candidates are in the fray.
Chaupal of Chhindwara
But to know what is in the minds of the voters of Chhindwara, News 18 India team reached Parasia Naka. Parasia Naka is the place where urban and rural voters of Chhindwara meet. Here the elections were discussed with the people at a tea shop, because discussion over tea tells the pulse of every area.
Here a person says- Only Nakul Nath will win in Chhindwara because of the development work done by Kamal Nath. Everyone here is happy with him. New voter Ayesha, a girl, says that Kamal Nath comes from Chhindwara. Certainly a lot of work has been done here, but BJP’s efforts can be successful because they like Narendra Modi and Modi government.
The tea stall owner is saying that the matter seems to be stuck in Chhindwara. Whereas some voters remained silent on this. One person said that the matter seems to be going towards Bunty Sahu BJP. The wave of BJP is going on. Look what the public does now.
While eating momos, a youth said that the atmosphere is of BJP only. Whatever work the Prime Minister has done in the last ten years, Ram Temple has been built for the benefit of the people. There is hope that Modi’s guarantee will be fulfilled. The chaat shopkeeper is talking about the atmosphere of BJP. This time it is expected to cross four hundred. This time BJP seems strong in Chhindwara.
Chhindwara is a strong fort of Congress
Saffron has been waving all over Madhya Pradesh for a long time, but Chhindwara is a place where BJP has tried everything. She has not been able to make a dent in this traditional stronghold of Kamal Nath. Ever since Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat came into existence, it has always been held by Congress except for one year. BJP’s Sundar Lal Patwa had won from here in 1997. But after just one year this seat again came into the hands of Congress. Kamal Nath’s family itself has been MP here 11 times. Kamal Nath 9 times, Kamal Nath’s wife Alka Nath once and now at present Kamal Nath’s son Nukul Nath is MP.
BJP is giving tough competition
There are 7 assembly seats within Chhindwara Lok Sabha seat, out of which only one is held by BJP and the remaining 6 are by Congress MLAs. However, in the last Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate Natthan Shah had given a tough competition to Nukulnath on this seat. Nukulnath got 5.47 lakh votes and Natthan Shah got 5.09 lakh votes. That means Nukulnath’s victory margin was only 37,536.
