New Delhi. Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud reached SV Vedic University on Wednesday. During this, he said that it is everyone’s responsibility to pass on the knowledge contained in the manuscripts to the future generations. Earlier, CJI reached Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati for darshan. During this he performed prayers. Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court Dheeraj Singh Thakur welcomed Justice Chandrachud to the state.
The priests formally welcomed him in the temple premises. “After having darshan of the Lord, the CJI was blessed by the temple priests at the Ranganayakula Mandapam,” a press release issued by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said. Besides, the TTD officials gifted Justice Chandrachud a portrait of the deity along with ‘prasadam’ (sacred food), diary, calendar, incense sticks and ‘Panchagavya’ products.

Also learned about ancient legal texts
After the morning temple visit, the CJI went to SV Vedic University to see and examine the manuscripts. Justice Chandrachud said that it is the responsibility of everyone to pass on the knowledge contained in these ancient manuscripts to future generations. Later the CJI spoke to journalists and said that he was happy to know that the ancient manuscripts were being preserved and he also learned about the ancient legal texts there. Justice Chandrachud highlighted that the university professors had taught him about law and other nuances in the ancient civilization. He called for the protection and dissemination of the knowledge contained in manuscripts in India and across the world.
