Summary
There is a need to improve the infrastructure of the judicial system. We are not even meeting the minimum standards in this area. It is my endeavor to establish an institutional mechanism for coordination and monitoring.
Chief Justice of India NV Ramanna raised many questions on the judicial system of the country on Saturday. He said that the judicial framework lacks basic minimum standards. He also stressed on filling the existing vacancies and increasing the number of judges. Actually, the CJI was speaking at an event organized by the Delhi High Court. Apart from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, many other judges also participated in this program.

The Chief Justice said that, I am repeatedly asked by entrepreneurs how investor friendly the Indian judicial system is. My answer has always been the same, that the Indian judiciary is absolutely independent and it always treats all parties equally. The CJI advised that, while adjudicating intellectual property rights claims, contemporary claims should be balanced with the enduring interests of future generations.
