Mahasamund (v). The new education policy was started by the Government of India in 2020. Various efforts are being made by the government to operate it. Nipun Bharat Yojana has been started for the successful implementation of the new education policy. Through this scheme the knowledge of basic literacy and numeracy will be passed on to the students. District level Basic Literacy and Numeracy Development Project Management Unit was constituted under the chairmanship of Collector Nileshkumar Sagar. Its meeting was held on 28 February at the Collectorate.
In the meeting, Collector Nileshkumar instructed the concerned department heads and subject experts, teachers to make a special action plan for the district after deep contemplating among themselves under the Nipun Bharat scheme. He fixed April 30 as the scheduled date for this. On this occasion FL booklet was presented to the collector, which he praised. The main objective of Nipun Bharat Yojana is to develop basic literacy and numeracy knowledge within the students. Through this scheme, by the year 2026-27, by the end of third grade, the ability of students to learn reading, writing and arithmetic will be developed. This scheme will prove to be very effective for the development of the children.
Agenda wise points were informed by District Mission Coordinator Ashok Kumar Sharma. He stressed on making special action plan for the students of Odia language of four development blocks of the district namely Saraipali, Basna, Pithora and Bagbahra. Apart from this, approval was also taken for the formation of members of the Professional Learning Committee at the block level in the district for the production of materials for the children in the local language prevalent in the district. In the meeting, the members of the NGOs working in the quality of education gave information about their respective programs.
The progress of the works being done by the FLN nodal in each block was informed.
It is to be known that the Nipun Bharat scheme has been started by the Ministry of Education, Government of India on July 5, 2021. The full name of this scheme is National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy. An enabling environment will be created through this scheme.
