South Korean automaker Hyundai is going to launch its new electric car Ioniq 5 in India this year. Although the exact date or month information has not been found yet, but information about the features has definitely come to the fore. According to the information received, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be brought to India as a CBU.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a unique electric car because, unlike many other electric cars, the Ioniq 5 is not based on any vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine. It has been built on the e-GMP or electric-global modular platform since its inception. Notably, Hyundai has developed this platform specifically for electric vehicles, and the Ioniq 5 is the first vehicle to be built on this platform.
Benefits of being based on an EV platform
If you notice, the Ioniq 5’s wheels are placed at the corners, and this helps in making the wheelbase longer, which is capable of offering more cabin space. Also, since it is an EV platform, there is no curve in the middle. The floor of this electric vehicle is completely flat,

Which means, more legroom and shoulder room is likely to be provided. Needless to say, the Ioniq 5 has ample seating capacity, while the dashboard is slim, and the central console can be moved at the front to free up more space.
Range available on single charge
Hyundai offers the Ioniq 5 in two configurations. There is a rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. There is a single motor setup at the rear-wheel-drive. Which generates maximum power of 169 bhp and peak torque of 350 Nm. On the other hand, the dual-motor setup is available in the all-wheel-drive version. It gets an electric motor on both the axles, and it produces a maximum power of 306 bhp and a total peak torque of 605 Nm.

Apart from this, there are two battery packs on offer in this car. 58 kWh and 72.6 kWh. The 58 kWh battery has a driving range of 385 km and the 72.6 kWh battery has a driving range of 481 km. At the same time, you can charge its battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes with the fast charger of 350 kW.
