Senior Congress leader AK Antony is seen leaving the cause. He has announced his retirement from politics by writing a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Apart from this, he also said that after leaving the state, he will leave Delhi and shift to Thiruvananthapuram. Please tell that his decent post of Rajya Sabha is going to be completed on April 2. After this he will not stand in the election and he will break his relationship with politics, Delhi and Parliament forever.
It is noteworthy that AK Antony has been active in politics for the last 52 years. AK Antony, who started working as a student leader, was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1970. At the age of 37, he became the Chief Minister of Kerala for the first time. He held the Chief Presidentship of Kerala thrice, the Central Presidentship thrice and the civilized office of the Rajya Sabha five times. Apart from this, he also held the post of President of Congress Parliamentary Committee for 10 years.
Describing this, he said that sometime back he had made up his mind to move away from Thiruvananthapuram. After much deliberation, he wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi informing him of his desire.
