First-time Congress MLA Neeraj Sharma created a ruckus in the Haryana Assembly on Tuesday by taking an oath. In fact, Congress MLAs want action against the officials of Faridabad Municipal Corporation accused of corruption.
He took off his shoes to put pressure on the government, went out of the house to change clothes and came back in the house wearing dhoti and angavastra.
NIT Faridabad MLA Sharma stood up to speak during the Question Hour. During this, he accused several officers, including two IAS officers, of being involved in irregularities in the House.
He said, “Please give me a time frame when action will be taken against these corrupt officials. It is my ‘Bhishma pledge’ that I will not wear shoes and stitched clothes until action is taken. Corruption is a curse and I am ready to eradicate it.”
Regarding how many scams were uncovered in Faridabad Municipal Corporation from 2014 to December 2021 by Congress MLA, how many scams were handed over to Vigilance Bureau for investigation, details of recommendations made by Vigilance teams and action taken by the government against guilty officials Question has also been asked.
However, the Congress MLAs were not satisfied with the answers given by the state government to these questions. After announcing his intention not to wear stitched clothes till action is taken against corrupt officials, the MLAs walked out of the House and came back barefoot wearing ‘angavastra’ and dhoti.
However, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar assured that the state government would not spare the guilty. Khattar said nine cases have been registered and investigations are on by law enforcement agencies.
The government is keeping a close watch and will ensure that the guilty are brought to book, and no innocent is trapped. He said that every case is being thoroughly investigated.
