Seoni, Naiduniya Rep. The Congress has now opened a front against the screw diversion project, which has been involved in controversies of substandard construction from the beginning. On Wednesday, showing shoddy construction at the site of the D-3 canal built near Bhongakheda, the district Congress officials accused the contractor and officials of making disturbances in the construction work. It has been said that the termites of corruption are ruining the canals of the Pench project being built for the farmers.
Arbitrarily constructing canals: Talking to the media on the occasion, Congress President Rajkumar Khurana said that canals are being constructed arbitrarily by the officials of the Irrigation Department by giving tender to the contractor. The canals being built to irrigate the fields have become a problem for the farmers. As soon as the water is released, it starts leaking from the substandard canals, which is destroying the crops in the fields. Water is being wasted in the head area, so how will the water reach the farmers of the tail area. The lining of the canal kept crumbling as soon as it was made. The concrete of the canal is breaking because of the hand. The construction has not been done as per the drawing, design and parameters. Surprisingly, neither the road for the movement of farmers has been made in the canal of about 4 km, nor scape regulators have been made nor construction joint has been made between the two panels. During this, Congress MLA Arjun Singh Kakodia from Barghat, former MLA from Keolari Rajneesh Harvansh Singh and district Congress office-bearers were present.
Demand for inquiry from Chief Technical Examiner: On the poor construction of the canal and ignoring the parameters, the District Congress Committee has demanded the Chief Technical Examiner (Vigilance) to examine the Bhongakheda D-3 canal meticulously. Congress President Khurana said that letters sent to the Minister of Water Resources Department, Principal Secretary, including the Chief Technical Examiner, have also been sought for various reports related to the construction works. If action is not taken in this matter, Congress will go for street agitation. Along with this, the refuge of the court will be taken.
