The resentment of disgruntled leaders in Congress may end. After the assembly elections in five states, one-on-one meeting of disgruntled leaders and the meeting of disgruntled leaders from the top leadership of the party has given rise to these speculations. The party can initiate collective leadership by removing the discontent of the disgruntled leaders.
Senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad met Congress President Sonia Gandhi amidst colors on the festival of Holi. After this meeting, which lasted for about one and a half hours, it is believed that the party top leadership and disgruntled leaders can reach an agreement. A day before Azad, senior leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda also met Rahul Gandhi. Hooda is also one of the disgruntled leaders.
According to party sources, disgruntled leaders are continuously raising the demand for collective leadership. The statement that was issued even after the meeting of dissident leaders held at Azad’s house, there was a lot of talk about collective leadership. In such a situation, the Congress can constitute a committee of senior leaders to give opinion to the party president on important issues. Disgruntled leaders can also be included in this committee. To persuade former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the party can entrust the responsibility of state president to his son Deepender Hooda or any of his supporters. Hooda and his supporters have been pressurizing the party leadership for a long time to become the state president. In such a situation, the current state president Kumari Selja can be sent to the Rajya Sabha. Kuldeep Vishnoi can become the leader of the legislature party.
Similarly, the party is considering sending Azad to the Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha elections are to be held in many more states in the next few months. The party can field Azad as its candidate from any one of these states. A senior party leader said that the party is following a formula to persuade the disgruntled leaders. But it is too early to say anything now. Hopefully the dispute will be resolved soon.
