COVID infection rate in Delhi increased to 3.95
Delhi has registered an increase in the number of Covid cases and infection rate in the last few days. On Friday, 366 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Delhi, while the infection rate increased to 3.95 percent.
According to the Health Bulletin issued by the Health Department of Delhi, a total of 685 COVID patients are in home isolation in Delhi. It said that there are 9,735 beds for Covid patients in Delhi hospitals and 51 (0.52 per cent) of them are currently full.
It is noteworthy that 325 new cases of infection were reported in Delhi on Thursday, while not a single patient died. At the same time, the infection rate was 2.39 percent. On Wednesday, 299 cases of COVID were reported and the infection rate was 2.49 percent.
All hospitals in Delhi advised to be alert
In view of the increasing cases of corona virus in the capital Delhi, all the hospitals in Delhi have been advised to remain alert. Giving this information on Friday, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that the Delhi government is fully prepared to deal with any situation. At the same time, in the past, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that the government is keeping a close watch on the situation. He stressed that the number of people admitted to the hospital is not increasing, so there is no need to panic. Nothing to worry about now.
Jain said that the Delhi government is closely monitoring the situation and the government does not want to take any risk. We have completely transformed our health infrastructure. Along with this, all the hospitals have been advised to be alert amidst increasing cases of corona in Delhi. He also said that the Delhi government is tracing the people who came in contact with the patients to prevent the spread of the infection. Along with this, RT-PCR test will also be increased if needed. To prevent the spread of corona, the Delhi government is working on the principle of ‘Test, Trace and Treat’ (test, contact tracing and treatment).
Advice on wearing a mask and getting vaccinated as soon as possible
The Health Minister also advised people to wear masks while stepping out and get vaccinated at the earliest. He said that prevention is better than cure. Those who are not yet vaccinated or have only taken the first dose should visit their nearest health center as soon as possible for complete vaccination.
He said that there is no need to panic as the XE variant has not been included in the list of “Variants of Concern” by the World Health Organization (WHO).
He has said that around 37,000 Covid beds and 10,594 Covid ICU beds have been prepared in Delhi. If the infection spreads, the government plans to increase 100 oxygen beds in every ward of Delhi within two weeks. In such a situation, the Delhi government is planning to prepare 65,000 beds, so that no person has to face shortage of beds in case of emergency. Jain said that if the cases increase again then the system of home isolation will be implemented.
