new Delhi. The Union Health Ministry said on Saturday that in the last 24 hours, 1,260 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India and 83 people have died. With the new deaths, the nationwide death toll has risen to 5,21,264.
Amidst a steady decline, India’s active cases have come down to 13,445, which is 0.03 per cent of the total number of positive cases in the country.
A total of 1,404 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,24,92,326. The recovery rate of the country is 98.76 percent.
Also in the same period, a total of 5,28,021 tests were conducted across the country, taking the total number of tests to 79.02 crore.
As of Saturday morning, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 184.52 crore. This was achieved through 2,20,93,346 sessions.
Over 1.81 crore adolescents have been given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since the launch of the immunization campaign for the 12 to 14 age group.
