The country’s first helicopter journey to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat has started from April 1, 2024. Embarking on an unprecedented journey to enhance religious tourism, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) has launched this journey in collaboration with Noida-based Trip to Temples. According to PTI news, UTDB has authorized Trip to Temples to accept travel registration and operational management of the non-heli part. Traditionally, pilgrims seeking the divine presence of Lord Shiva and Parvati at Adi Kailash or the awe-inspiring scenic view of Om Parvat had to traverse difficult tracks and walk for days to reach them. Booking is open for this journey. You can make booking by visiting the website of Trip to Temples.
A group of 18 pilgrims took flight for the first time
According to the news, on April 1, a group of 18 pilgrims took the first flight to the entrance of these revered sites. This had never happened before. Byasdev Rana, one of the pilgrims, said I am very happy to see my lifelong dream coming true through this inaugural journey. This effort between Trip to Temples and the Government of Uttarakhand has made pilgrimage to these holy sites possible not only for me, but has also opened doors for many others struggling with time and physical constraints. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for senior citizens.
Another interesting feature will start from April 15th
Trip to Temples, in collaboration with UTDB, has revolutionized the pilgrimage landscape, enabling devotees to have a one-day aerial view of both the sites, with a return trip on the same day. Another interesting feature will start rolling out from April 15th. The five-day helicopter tour with convenient departure from Pithoragarh will provide pilgrims access to these divine places. By landing helicopters near holy sites, the need for extensive walking is reduced, ensuring a seamless and comfortable journey for devotees.
Vikas Mishra, CEO, Trip to Temples, said the upcoming winter season of the Yatra is set to be a path-breaking venture, offering mesmerizing views of the snow-covered Vyas Valley, Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Helicopter flights and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) will replace the arduous treks from Jeolingkong and Nabhidang, ensuring a comfortable journey through the snowy expanses even during the winter season.
