Indore (Naiduniya Representative). Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is preparing for the Doctoral Entrance Test (DET-22) to be held after two years. One thousand applications have been received so far for 1165 PhD seats in 32 subjects. Candidates have time till March 5 to register. After that applications will be accepted with late fee. Its last date has been kept 12 March. According to the officials, the number of applications may increase. Around three thousand candidates are expected to appear.
After December 2019 the university is now conducting the DET. Due to Corona, two years admission in PhD could not be done. Now the university administration has decided to conduct DET on March 26 for PhD of 32 subjects, but there is not a single vacant seat of PhD in eight faculties. Due to this the applicant got a little disappointed. It includes English, History, Journalism, Law, Yoga, Painting, Marathi, Music. While management and commerce have maximum seats. For the first time, the university is going to give admission to 1165 PhD seats. It is expected that more than three thousand applications can come. But so far only one thousand candidates have been registered.
Centers will be made in departments The departments will make the examination centers for the DET to be held offline. Most of the departments have given consent for this. According to sources, meeting arrangements will be made for students in about 25 departments. Will give the responsibility of supervisor to the professors. Devi Ahilya University was not conducting DET for two years due to corona infection. Now the cases of corona have started coming down in Indore including the state, due to which the university has now decided to conduct the examination. However, with few days left for registration, the number of candidates appearing in DET is expected to increase.
