New Delhi. The 5th round of Ranji Trophy is going to start from 2nd February. Many players who have scored a lot of runs in first class cricket are seen knocking the doors of BCCI. One of them is the name of Under-19 World Cup champion captain Prithvi Shaw, who seems to be looking for a way to make a comeback in Team India. Prithvi Shaw, who has been under the scanner regarding his fitness, is ready to make a comeback in Ranji Trophy after getting fit from injury after 5 months.
While playing county cricket in August, he suffered a knee injury while playing for Northamptonshire. After which he had to undergo surgery in London. After three months of rehab, he has now received the green signal from NCA and has been included in the Mumbai team. According to ESPN Cricinfo, Prithvi had recovered from the injury long ago, but NCA medical panel head Nitin Patel wanted him to be completely fit before giving him the clearance certificate.
That is history, now we have to move forward – Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw has not been able to return to Team India for several months. After returning to Ranji Trophy from injury, Prithvi was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo, ‘There were some innings in the beginning of IPL 2023 which went by in a jiffy. I kept thinking about the first match, and I immediately realized that three matches had passed. The lesson was that once the match is over, leave it at that. There’s nothing you can do about it, it’s history. you have to keep moving forward.’
98, 94, 90.. Mumbai team’s dreaded batsman had bad luck, became victim of nervous nineties thrice.
Prithvi Shaw had to face a lot of criticism regarding his fitness. He had scored two consecutive century innings in county cricket in August, one of which included a brilliant inning of 244 runs. Now if he maintains his charisma in Ranji also, then the hopes of his comeback in Team India can be raised.
