He said the training of the Indian Air Force needs to be modern, flexible and adaptable, with a message of solidarity. He said that technically strong well trained airmen would work to enhance the strength of the Air Force. The next step would be to use our principles and well trained manpower to develop the employability philosophy. Air Chief Marshal Chaudhry stressed that this would require joint planning and joint execution of plans.
During the address, he emphasized the need to develop joint command and control structures for integrated and coordinated application of combat power. The Air Chief said that no single army, Air Force, Army or Navy can win the war on its own, for this mutual coordination is very important.
The Air Force Chief has cautioned that the fabric of future warfare is changing rapidly. Due to new technological changes, India has a challenge to deal with the threats from drones to hypersonic missiles. He said that air security has been affected the most by the technological advancements happening at day-to-day pace. Therefore, there is a need for radical changes in all dimensions of the army including air security.
