New Delhi. Every temple that was demolished during the Portuguese rule in Goa will be rebuilt. This announcement has been given by CM Pramod Sawant. He has said this in the ‘Panchjanya Media Conclave’ held in Delhi. Sawant said that there are many temples in Goa. Many of these were destroyed by the Portuguese. By getting them rebuilt, he wants to attract tourists to come to Goa. He also described this work as the duty of the state government. Even during the assembly elections in Goa, Sawant had promised to rebuild the temples if he came to power.
Regarding Uniform Civil Code, he said that Goa has a Uniform Civil Code from the time of independence and other states should also implement it. He said that the Uttarakhand government has constituted a committee to implement this and I welcome it. Earlier on Sunday, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reiterated his promise to bring a Uniform Civil Code in the state. Dhami had said that the draft is being prepared for this. He also appealed to all the states to implement Uniform Civil Code.
Pramod Sawant said that during the BJP government in Goa, development works were done earlier and are still being done at a fast pace. He said that what Goa has not achieved for 60 years, it has been achieved between 2012 and 2022. He said that India became independent in 1947, but Goa got independence in 1967. For this also the then Congress government was responsible. Sawant said that Goa will soon be among the best states of the country. No obstacle will be allowed in this work.
