IndiGo Air Taxi: In the coming time, you will not have to face heavy traffic jam to go from Delhi to Gurugram. You can travel from Delhi to Gurugram in just 7 minutes. Indian leading airlines company Indigo Airlines is preparing to run Air Taxi between Delhi and Gurugram. Indigo Airlines’ parent company InterGlobe is about to launch electric air taxi in India. The company can first start this service between Delhi and Gurugram. After this, there is a plan to run air taxi in Mumbai and Bengaluru also.
According to PTI report, Indigo’s parent company InterGlobe Enterprises and America based Archer Aviation can jointly start this air taxi service. Archer Aviation will supply 200 electric aircraft to IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe to start air taxi service in India. In this electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxi of Indigo, 4 passengers will be able to travel simultaneously. Apart from this, like a helicopter, a pilot will also be present in it. It is claimed that Indigo’s air taxi will make less noise than helicopters and it will also be better in terms of safety.
How much will the fare be?
This air taxi can be run between Delhi and Gurugram in 2026. For this 7-minute journey, the passenger will have to spend Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. Currently, it takes an average of 90 minutes to cover this distance of 27 kilometers and passengers have to spend up to Rs 1,500 for this.
Archer Aviation CEO Founder and CEO Adam Goldstein said that the certification process for this has been started. After receiving the certificate from the US Federal Aviation Administration, certification will be taken from the Indian regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). The company is preparing to start air taxi service in 2026. For this, 200 midnight light weight electric aircraft will be deployed. Not only this, the process of finalizing the space for preparing vertiports or launch pads for starting air taxi service will also be started soon.
