BCCI’s big action against Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was out on a full toss ball in the match played against Kolkata Knight Riders. He believed that this ball was above the waist. But the umpires declared him out. He appeared very unhappy with this decision of the umpires and was also seen arguing before returning to the pavilion. In such a situation, BCCI has now fined 50% of the match fee on Virat Kohli for showing disagreement with the umpire’s decision.
Lost his wicket on Harshit Rana’s ball
During the third over of the second innings against Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat Kohli was out on a slow full toss ball on the first ball of Harshit Rana’s over. Virat Kohli then asked for a review and the umpire gave him out even after the review. Virat Kohli looked very angry about this. After this, Virat angrily spoke to the umpire and returned towards the pavilion. Not only this, while going towards the pavilion, he also knocked down a dustbin with his hand.
Virat out under new rules of IPL
The Hawk-Eye Tracking rule, which measures the height of no-balls, is in place in the Indian Premier League. Under this, no ball is decided by assessing the height of the ball from the height of the batsman’s waist in the crease. Kohli was out of the crease while playing the shot and the ball was above his waist but it was coming downwards. TV umpire Michael Gough checked the height and according to Hawk-Eye tracking, if Kohli had been in the crease, the ball would have passed at a height of 0.92 meters near the waist. In this situation the ball would have been below Kohli’s waist height (1.04 metres). In such a situation, Gough found the height of the ball to be below Kohli’s waist height on the ball tracking scale and declared him out.
