Due to the absence of an active Western Disturbance and due to this, the people of Delhi have to face warmer than normal summer this time in the month of March itself.
In comparison, if we look at the temperature of the year 2021, then the maximum temperature on March 1 was 32.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature on the last date of March was 37.9 degrees Celsius. At the same time, in the year 2020, the maximum temperature on March 1 was 27.3 and the maximum temperature on the last date of the month was 30 degrees Celsius. In this way, this time the heat has increased rapidly in the month of March.
For the third time in 72 years, March was so hot at night.
Meteorological Department figures show that this is the third time in the last 72 years that the nights have been so hot in the month of March. This time the average minimum temperature for the month of March is 17.6 degree Celsius. Earlier in the year 1953 and March 2010, the average minimum temperature was recorded at 18.5 °C.
Delhiites may have to face the heat of the heat again
Due to the change in wind direction, the capital will get some relief from heat wave for the next two days. However, after this again people will have to bear the scorching heat. On Thursday afternoon, people felt the heat of the wind. The maximum temperature of the day was recorded at 39.5 degree Celsius at Safdarjung Meteorological Station. The minimum temperature recorded was 20.1 degree Celsius.
No relief from pollution
The people of Delhi are not getting relief from the polluted air. The pollution level in Delhi’s air on Thursday was three times above the standards. At the same time, the air quality index at many monitoring centers was recorded above 300 points i.e. in the very poor category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average air quality index for Thursday stood at 298 points. This level of air is classified as poor. However, it is just three points below the very poor category. On the other hand, the index was 276 points on Wednesday, that is, it has increased by 22 points within 24 hours.
