New Delhi. The central government has given another three-month extension to Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, officials said on Tuesday. Kumar is a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.
Kumar was given his first extension in November 2023 following a Supreme Court order. He is at loggerheads with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi.
In an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday, it was said that the extension of service of AGMUT cadre IAS officer and Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has been approved by the competent authority.
The order said that those service extensions will be effective for three months, from June 1 to August 31. Kumar was due to retire on November 30, 2023, but was given an extension of six months. The extension period was to end on May 31, but he got another extension before that.
