Srinagar. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Monday asked the voters of Jammu and Kashmir not to vote for the party if they are satisfied with the decision to abrogate Article 370. He said the people of the Union Territory should “send a message to Delhi by defeating the BJP and its ‘B’ and ‘C’ team.” Abdullah addressed the North Kashmir Parliamentary Assembly at the party headquarters here, a party statement said. Chaired a meeting with the constituency in-charge of the seat.
According to the statement, Abdullah targeted other parties in the Union Territory and said that they have time and again proved that they have a “tacit pact” with the BJP. He said, “Our stand is being proved correct with each passing day. However, all of them (teams) will meet the same fate on the voting dates. I can understand that people are ready to give a befitting reply to BJP through their votes.

In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress Party has decided to contest the elections in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh region along with the National Conference. An alliance has been formed between the two parties under the India Alliance. Both the parties made this formal announcement during a press conference on Monday. During the press conference, Farooq Abdullah’s son Omar Abdullah and Congress’s Salman Khurshid and Pawan Kheda came forward. Under the India Alliance, both these parties will together try to challenge BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. National Conference will contest on 3 seats and Congress on three seats. National Conference has given the seats of Udhampur, Jammu and Ladakh to Congress. Whereas, National Conference has got the seats of Anantnag, Srinagar and Baramulla.
