WhatsApp has become an essential app for millions of users today. Through this instant messaging app, you can do professional chatting with your friends as well. From office work to personal conversations are also done through WhatsApp. However, sometimes you want to take a break from it and want no messages to come. To do this you will either have to turn off your phone’s mobile data or internet. By doing this you will not be able to use other apps also.
A secret feature has been provided for Android users, using which the user can turn off only that one app which he does not want to use. By using this secret feature, you can turn off the messages coming on WhatsApp and will be able to use videos or other OTT apps on the phone without getting disturbed. For this you will have to restrict the data usage of WhatsApp.
Restrict data like this
- For this you will first have to go to the phone’s settings.
- After this go to Connectivity or More Connectivity option.
- After this go to Data Usage option.
- Here you will see the list of apps present in the phone. Tap on the app whose data usage you want to stop.
- After this turn off the mobile data button.
- By doing this, even after the internet is turned on in the phone, that app will not have access to the internet.
Single tick will be visible after turning off data
After making these settings for WhatsApp, if anyone sends you a message on WhatsApp, then he will see a single tick, that is, the message will not be delivered and you will be able to access other services on the phone without being disturbed. Please note that these settings will work depending on the operating system used in the user’s phone. Stock Android 14 users will not get this feature. In such a situation, they will be able to stop only the background data access of the app. As soon as they open the app, they will start receiving messages on WhatsApp again.
