BCCI fined Rajasthan captain
New Delhi. The victory chariot of Rajasthan Royals has stopped. Rajasthan team led by Sanju Samson had to face defeat in the 24th match of IPL. Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan on the last ball in a thrilling match. Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson has been hit twice. BCCI has imposed a fine of lakhs on Sanju who lost the match. Sanju’s fault is that his team could not complete 20 overs as per the scheduled time. Therefore, a huge fine was imposed on him by IPL.
In the match played at Sawaiman Singh Stadium, Jaipur, after a half-century by captain Shubman Gill, with the help of brilliant innings by Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets and broke their sequence of 4 consecutive wins. Chasing Royals’ target of 197 runs, the Titans team scored 36 runs in 14 balls in 20 overs with the partnership of 36 runs in 14 balls for the seventh wicket between Rashid (24 not out in 11 balls) and Tewatia (21 runs in 11 balls, three fours). Won by scoring 199 runs for seven wickets. Captain Shubhman Gill (72) and Sai Sudarshan (35) gave a good start to the team by adding 64 runs for the first wicket.

Due to slow over rate, a fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on Sanju Samson. Sanju Samson came to captain Rajasthan Royals in his 50th match as captain. He is the second player after Shane Warne to achieve this feat. Earlier, Shane Warne had made this record for Rajasthan. Before this, Rajasthan had won 4 consecutive matches. Despite the defeat, it is at number one in the points table with 8 points.
Kuldeep Sen (41/3) and Yuzvendra Chahal (43/2) took wickets for Rajasthan Royals but all their bowlers proved costly. Ryan Parag (76 runs in 48 balls, five sixes, three fours) and captain Sanju Samson (68 not out in 38 balls, two sixes, seven fours), apart from scoring half-centuries earlier, scored 130 runs in 78 balls for the third wicket. Made a partnership due to which Royals scored 196 runs for 3 wickets. Sanju Samson has been fined for the first time in the current season. If he is found committing this mistake for the second time, he may be fined double.
