Patna . A group of miscreants threw acid on a person in Nalanda district of Bihar amid the celebration of Holi across the country. An official said that the victim died on the spot.
Krishna Murari Prasad, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Hilsa range in Nalanda district said, “The incident took place at Nadha village around 5 pm on Friday. Investigation is on to identify the victim.”
“We have sent the body for post-mortem,” he said.
Police said the cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, though the absconding accused have been identified.
When the local police got information about this incident, they immediately reached the spot. However, a large number of villagers gathered there started pelting stones at them.
The situation in the area is extremely tense. Officials said that a large police force is camping in the village to bring the situation under control.
According to sources, the accused belonged to the same village, so local people attacked their houses. The police have also cracked down on the relatives of the suspects for forcing them to surrender.
