A shocking case has come to light from Basti in Uttar Pradesh, acting on which the UP Police raided the residence of Samajwadi Party’s Basti district president and party MLA from Basti Sadar, Mahendra Nath Yadav, on the night of 18 March. In fact, the MLA was accused of keeping a current block chief named Ramkumar and his family hostage for four months. Presently Ramkumar is the Block Head of Bahadurpur in Uttar Pradesh.
When the police raided after the information of the matter, during this time Ramkumar and his family were found at the residence of the SP MLA. After this, in the presence of heavy police force, Ramkumar and his family were freed. According to reports, the MLA was present at his house at the time of the police raid. It is being told that SP MLA Mahendra Nath Yadav had allegedly taken Ramkumar and his family hostage in October last year.
According to the police, a case of kidnapping was registered at Kalvari police station on the complaint of Om Prakash, a relative of block chief Ramkumar. After the raid, Basti SP Ashish Srivastava issued a video statement saying that the police has provided security to the victim’s family. Along with this, he also gave information about this whole matter.
According to Basti SP Ashish Srivastava, on March 18, a person named Om Prakash had informed at Calwari police station that his brother-in-law Ramkumar, who is the block chief of Bahadurpur; He was taken by Samajwadi Party’s District President and MLA Mahendra Nath Yadav on 23 October 2021. In such a situation, on March 17, his brother-in-law told Om Prakash on the phone that he had been taken hostage by Mahendra Nath Yadav and was not being allowed to go anywhere.
Then after the complaint of Om Prakash, an FIR was registered in the matter and the audio provided by him was also investigated. Basti’s SP Ashish Srivastava said, as part of the action, when the police reached the spot, Ramkumar was present at the house of the SP MLA, who was freed safely. According to the SP, further investigation is on in the matter and police protection has been given to the victim side.
