Bijapur district has maximum tendu leaves in the entire state. A target of collecting 80500 standard bags has been set this year. He said that the department has made a provision of compensation for the collectors of tendu leaves and few people know about it. Parmanand Sonwani, manager of Naimed Cooperative Society, told that if harvesting is done with a sharp-edged weapon at the time of shearing, then the crop will be good.
