Electricity Bill Recovery Campaign in Gwalior: Balveer Singh. Gwalior. The management of Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company has given a target of revenue collection of 92 crores to the city circle. Hearing such a target, the officers have also lost their sweat. The target is twofold, why the maximum revenue from Gwalior is Rs 50 crore. The areas from where revenue was to be recovered, the company has already done it in 2021. Those areas are left, which do not pay electricity bills. Attacks happen when the connection is cut.
The power company owes more than 400 crores in the city. A campaign is underway to recover the arrears. In the campaign run so far, the power company has not been able to get above 50 crores. Out of the old dues, it was able to recover only 5 to 6 crores. In the new bills that were issued, 20 percent of the people did not pay the bill, due to which new arrears were added. Due to this the arrears were increasing. At the same time, the interest on the arrears is also increasing. The power company has given a target to recover the arrears of demand that is currently being released. Along with this, 50 crore rupees have to be recovered from the old dues. Due to this, senior officers have also started taking meetings. Strictness is also being done on the staff of zone offices. Those who have arrears, their meters are being uprooted.
To recover the dues of this arrangement
The electricity company has started the system of cutting pole to pole connections to recover the dues. The outstanding is above Rs 3 thousand, its connection is being disconnected. The connection is added only after the dues are deposited. Controversy has also increased due to this.
