Whether war is taking place in any corner of the world, the common people have to bear the brunt of it. Politicians and VIPs secure themselves, but the loss of life and property is borne by the little man. In the war between Ukraine and Russia, people sitting far away may be arguing logically as to who is right and who is wrong. But the people of Ukraine are suffering and helplessly watching their ruin.
On the call of the President of Ukraine, the men have ready to face the Russian soldiers by taking up arms. People have sent other members of their family to neighboring countries or remote small towns so that they do not give up war sacrifices. With weapons in their own hands, they have stood up to defend their motherland. But what would be going on in their mind, who knows?
Alexander’s tearful farewell with family #Kyiv railway station. They’re going to relative safety in Lviv, he’s staying to fight. Wouldn’t let go of a toy ambulance his 8 year old son gave him as he put them on the train. #ukraine more later on@BBCNews@BBCWorld pic.twitter.com/LQuwgoHIbR

A picture has been shared with this news which is of Alexander, who lives in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. A BBC journalist shared this picture on social media. Alexander, seen in this picture, is standing at Kyiv’s railway station as he has come to drop off his 8-year-old son, along with his wife and family members. His family is moving to the nearby town of Elviv, so that they do not come under attack when the Russian army raids Kyiv. Although Alexander himself has preferred to stay in Kyiv. He, along with the rest of the male civilians, will hold arms and face Russian soldiers until their last breath.
To moisten anyone’s eyes here, the incident is such that when Alexander’s family was leaving in the train, at that time Alexander’s 8-year-old son had a toy ambulance with him. The son handed over the ambulance to his father. It must have been the son’s feeling that when Papa is fighting a war and gets injured, an ambulance will help him in getting him to a safe place. The father also accepted the present given by his son. A small ambulance in Alexander’s hands is seen in this picture.
People are getting emotional after seeing this picture shared on social media. Many people are reacting that in many countries of the world, big countries are attacking in this way and there are only civilians who are suffering. One user has written that he prays to God that Alexander survives in this war and when the situation becomes normal, his son comes and takes back his favorite toy from his father. Many such human stories are coming to the fore in a crisis situation. But what else is left for common people apart from reading such human stories and emotionally connecting with such victims.
