Protest against Amazon
On Friday, the Gig Workers Association (GigWA), Amazon Warehouse workers and Hawkers Joint Action Committee protested together. It has been demanded that every employee working in Amazon should be given a salary of at least ₹ 25,000.
Company should increase salary and give less work
Along with this, the employees are demanding that their working hours should be reduced from 10 to 8. The workers protested against these demands. The Make Amazon Pay coalition, which includes UNI Global Union, Progressive International, 80 trade unions, civil society organizations, such as Oxfam and Greenpeace, continues the campaign called “Make Amazon Pay”.
Difficult to work in a negative environment
During this, the employees have kept the problems faced by them in the company. Happened in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Amazon has been opposed in many countries including India. Workers say that working under surveillance, working against unachievable targets, getting only 30 minutes lunch break, derogatory remarks against women workers and working in a negative environment is really difficult and unbearable.

Amazon is continuously lowering its working standard
Apart from this, they demanded separate restrooms for men and women, arrangement of proper rest for the employees working while standing, fixed term contract as per Indian labor law etc. Dharmendra Kumar, Co-convener of Joint Action Committee against Foreign Retail and E-commerce has also said that Amazon in India is continuously lowering its working standard which is not correct.
