Along with the Lok Sabha elections 2024, assembly elections are also scheduled to be organized in various states of the country. Arunachal Pradesh is also one of these states. Elections will be held on April 19 for the 60-member Assembly and two Lok Sabha seats in this state. However, even before the voting for the assembly elections, the victory of 5 BJP candidates including the current CM of the state Pema Khandu has already been decided. Let us know how this happened.
MLA sure to be elected unopposed
According to PTI, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and four other BJP candidates are sure to be elected unopposed as MLAs. This is because, the last day of filing nomination for the election was on Wednesday and no one else has filed nomination from the assembly seat of these candidates. The process of filing nominations for the elections to be held on April 19 ended on March 27.
Some more seats will be added to the list – Pema Khandu
According to PTI, CM Pema Khandu has informed that single nomination papers have been filed in five assembly constituencies. We hope that some more seats will be added to this list by the last day of withdrawal of nominations. Let us tell you that the scrutiny of nomination papers for Arunachal Assembly elections will be done on Thursday and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is March 30. Counting of votes for the assembly elections will take place on June 2, while the results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on June 4.
Names of these candidates also included
Union Minister Kiran Rijiju has also given this information on social media. He said that five candidates including Chief Minister Pema Khandu are sure to be elected unopposed from Mukto Assembly constituency. The other candidates are Ratu Techi from Sagali Assembly Constituency, Jikke Tako from Tali Assembly Constituency, Nyato Dukom from Taliha Assembly Constituency and Muchu Mithi from Roing Assembly Constituency.
