Jerusalem: Yemen’s Houthi rebels have again started showing their terror in the Red Sea. They are targeting ships passing through the sea with missile attacks. In the latest case, missiles fired by the Houthis fell some distance from a ship passing through the Red Sea on Friday. However, the ship narrowly escaped this attack. A private security firm gave this information. After a pause for some time, Houthi rebels have again intensified their attacks. This has again increased the concerns of international security organizations.
Let us tell you that during Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Houthi rebels started attacks on the shipping route in the area. Private security firm Ambre said the attack fired three missiles, which landed near a Panama-flagged tanker. This tanker is registered in Seychelles. Embrey said the ship ‘Primorsk’ was heading from Russia to Vadinar in Gujarat, India. According to ship-tracking data, the incident occurred when a tanker ship named ‘Andromeda Star’ was passing through the waterway near Mocha.
Houthis did not take responsibility for the attack
The Houthis have not claimed responsibility for the missile firing, but the group has been involved in such attacks in the past. The British Army’s ‘United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre’ also reported an attack near Mocha. Houthi attacks had decreased in recent weeks as US-led airstrikes targeted the rebels in Yemen. The threat has also affected the movement of ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. (AP)
