New Delhi: The bugle for Lok Sabha elections 2024 has been sounded. Political parties are announcing their candidates. Meanwhile, another name has come into the headlines. That is the name of the slain notorious sandalwood smuggler and dacoit Veerappan. Actually, Veerappan’s daughter Vidda Rani is going to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Vidya Rani on Saturday said that she will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Krishnagiri constituency of Tamil Nadu.
Let us tell you that he had resigned from BJP a few days ago. Vidya Rani said in a statement that she will contest the elections on the ticket of Naam Tamilar Katchi. He said that his father wanted to serve the people, but the method he chose for this was not appropriate. She said that she has come into politics to serve the people.

What does Vidda Rani do?
Vidya Rani is a lawyer by profession. She is also an activist and has been working for the welfare of tribals and Dalits. Notorious dacoit Veerappan was killed in 2004 during an encounter with the Special Task Force of Tamil Nadu Police. After joining BJP, he was made the Vice President of BJP Youth Brigade. But recently he left the party to join NTK led by actor-director Seeman.
Who was Veerappan?
Kooja Muniswami Veerappan, popularly known as Veerappan, was a notorious sandalwood smuggler not only in South India but in the world. Veerappan had killed an elephant at the age of just 10 and committed his first murder at the age of just 17. Veerappan could not be caught or killed for many decades. Whereas three governments of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala were behind it.
A special task force was formed to end the terror of Veerappan. In the year 2004, Veerappan and some of his associates were killed in an operation called Operation Cocoon. Veerappan had killed 184 people in his life. Most of whom were forest department and police employees. Till now 6 films have been made on Veerappan.
