After the return of Yogi Adityanath government to power once again, the atmosphere of the state has changed. So far 50 criminals have surrendered since the BJP got a bumper victory in the assembly election results on March 10. These criminals feared that they might have an encounter or that the house could be demolished with a bulldozer. Not only this, many criminals had hanging cards around their necks, in which it was written that I am surrendering. Please don’t shoot. Many criminals walked into the police stations of the state and surrendered. It is believed that the criminals are doing this in fear of the return of the Yogi government.
ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that these 50 criminals have not only surrendered but have also spoken of giving up the crime. In these 15 days, two criminals have been shot in the encounter. Apart from this, 10 others have been arrested. Kumar said that micro planning is being done to improve the law and order situation in the state. Separate planning is being done for each part of the state so that the policy of zero tolerance against criminals can be carried forward. He said that on one hand strictness is being taken against the mafia and on the other hand vigilance has also been increased. 112 Patrolling has also been strengthened.
He said that since 2017 till now no riot has happened in the state due to this policy. After the return of the Yogi government, Gautam Singh surrendered first, which was a case of kidnapping and ransom. He surrendered on March 15 at Chhapia police station in Gonda district. Apart from this, 23 criminals have surrendered in Chilkana police station of Saharanpur district. Not only this, they say that now they will not commit any crime. At the same time, 4 criminals related to smuggling of liquor have surrendered in Deoband of Saharanpur itself. These people have given an affidavit and said that now they will not commit any crime.
