This entire case is from the first tenure of the UPA government between 2004 and 2009 when Lalu Yadav was the Union Railway Minister. It is alleged that during that time, massive corruption was done in the Group D recruitments in the Railway Department. According to the CBI, by luring these recruitments, the ancestral land of the youth was transferred as bribe. Due to the involvement of Lalu along with other members of his family in this entire corruption, the CBI has also made them accused.
