New Delhi. CBI has registered a case against Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited, the second largest firm providing electoral bonds. This action has been taken by the investigating agency in a case of bribery by the company. The CBI has taken this action against Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited Company, owned by Pamireddy Pichi Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy, in a bribery case related to a project worth Rs 315 crore. Let us tell you that Hyderabad based Megha Engineering Company had purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 966 crore.
The CBI has registered a case against Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Ltd, along with eight officers from NMDC Iron and Steel Plant, Ministry of Steel, regarding alleged corruption in the execution of a Rs 315 crores project for NISP.

CBI has also registered a case against 8 officials of NMDC Iron and Steel Plant of the Steel Ministry and two officials of MECON in this case. In the complaint received by CBI, allegations were made that 8 officers of NISP and 2 officers of MECON Limited had taken bribe in return for the payment made by NMDC to Megha Engineering and Industrial Limited. The officers of NISP and NMDC Limited who have been booked by CBI include Director DK Mohanty, DGM PK Bhuyan, DM Naresh Babu, Senior Manager Subro Banerjee, GM (Finance) K Rajashekhar, Manager (Finance) Somnath Ghosh, retired CGM (Finance). L Krishna Mohan and retired executive director Prashant Dash. He is accused of taking bribe of Rs 73.85 lakh.
According to the information given by SBI after the Supreme Court order, the maximum amount of Rs 586 crore was given to BJP by Megha Engineering Company. The company donated Rs 195 crore to other party BRS and Rs 37 crore to YSRCP. Apart from this, DMK got Rs 85 crore and TDP got about Rs 25 crore. The company gave Rs 17 crore to Congress, Rs 5 to Rs 10 crore to JDS, Jan Sena Party and JDU under electoral bonds.
