New Delhi. There are many mountains of garbage in the country’s capital Delhi, but every time the garbage mountain of Ghazipur is discussed. This time too this mountain of garbage of Ghazipur is in the news. The reason for this is fire. A sudden fire broke out in the garbage mountain of Ghazipur on Sunday. It is being told that the gas coming out of the garbage heap caught fire due to the heat. Due to the fire, thick smoke filled the surrounding areas and people complained of difficulty in breathing. In such a situation, the question that arises is why this mountain of garbage is continuously increasing in Ghazipur and why no steps are being taken to eliminate it?

There are two governments in Delhi. One is the state government of Delhi and the other is the central government. The Delhi government looks after all the issues related to the public. These also include garbage collection. The garbage collected is thrown at three landfill sites at Ghazipur, Bhalswa and Okhla. Due to this reason, the mountain of garbage in Ghazipur is continuously increasing because the garbage is brought here and dumped, but no solution has been adopted till now for its further disposal. On one hand, the mountain of garbage continues to grow and incidents of fire occur in it. At the same time, politics is done on the basis of this mountain of garbage.
The political war between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP has started once again over the mountain of garbage standing in Ghazipur. BJP has alleged that CM Arvind Kejriwal had promised to remove the mountain of garbage from Ghazipur by 31 December 2023, but did not complete it.

Let us tell you that when Aam Aadmi Party had won the MCD elections in 2022, on October 27, Arvind Kejriwal had gone with his team to see the garbage mountain of Ghazipur. He had also given a guarantee to remove three mountains of garbage from Bhalswa and Okhla landfill sites, but this did not happen. Now Kejriwal is in jail and people in Ghazipur and surrounding areas are worried due to the fire in the garbage mountain. Will anyone take care of the effects of smoke on their health?
