On Thursday, a massive signature campaign was launched in the name of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister at Shri Krishna Talkies Square to demand the opening of a medical college at the district headquarters. In this, students, farmers, traders, industrialists, employees including elders signed and supported the demand for opening a medical college at the district headquarters. By the evening, about five thousand people had signed. The signature campaign, which started on Thursday under the aegis of Khargone Medical College Sangharsh Samiti, was inaugurated by schoolgirl Shivani Yadav Khedikhurd and Anushree Nagraj Avarakchha by signing the prescribed form. The campaign which started from 11 in the morning went on till 5 in the evening. Prakash Bhavsar of the committee said that soon the signature campaign will be run in the wards of the city along with school-college campus, coaching institute, nursing and paramedical college. The students of Paramedical College openly supported this demand. About 35 students also signed the demand letter. He said that the health services of the area would increase with the opening of the medical college. Employment will be available to paramedical and nursing students.
From young to old people also signed
Priyanka Ghode, a resident of Vishwaskha Colony, came to sign with her father Deepak Ghode. Priyanka liked this demand of increasing health facilities at the district headquarters and bright future of the students. She went to her house and 78-year-old grandmother Vimla brought the horse to the stage of the Sangharsh Samiti to get the horse signed. After the grandmother’s signature, Priyanka went home to drop her, then along with her 80-year-old grandfather Balkrishna returned with the horse and got her signed on the demand letter. Priyanka said that this opportunity should not be missed.
Announcement to give five lakhs in memory of son
Opening and naming of medical college in district headquarter Khargone. In the name of Dr. Raunak Bhandari, industrialist of the city, Giriraj Bhandari announced a grant of Rs.5 lakh. He made this announcement from the platform of Sangharsh Samiti during the signature campaign. It is to be known that after receiving MBBM doctorate degree from Rewa Medical College, Bhandari’s promising son Dr. Raunak died by accidental drowning in a canal near Rewa. Not only had the Bhandari family lost a son to this accident, the city had also lost a young doctor.
