There is not much time left for the T20 World Cup 2024 to start, but before that the performance of the Pakistan team has definitely become a matter of great concern for them. The Pakistani team, playing a 4-match T20 series against England, had a very poor performance in the second match, in which they were bowled out for just 160 runs while chasing a target of 184 runs. Now regarding this, former Pakistani team captain and player Shoaib Malik has criticized the batting order of the team, in which he also gave a big advice to the team management along with captain Babar Azam.
This is not PSL but international cricket
Former Pakistan team captain Shoaib Malik posted on the social media platform X and wrote that this is not PSL but T20 International cricket and that too just before the T20 World Cup. According to me, the batting order should be such that Fakhar Zaman should open with Rizwan and after that Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan should come to bat. Captain Babar Azam should use the other options on the bench wisely. Iftikhar Ahmed should be sent to bat a little higher so that he should get some overs to adapt himself to the conditions there. Expecting him to score 12 to 14 runs in every over as soon as he comes is not the right way at all.
Very poor performance so far in the year 2024
If we look at the performance of the Pakistani team in T20 International in the year 2024, they have played a total of 14 matches so far, out of which they have lost 8 matches, while they have won only 5 matches, while one match was cancelled. In such a situation, this is definitely a big concern for the management regarding the form of the Pakistan team before the T20 World Cup. The Pakistani team has to play the third T20 match of the series against England on 28 May at the Cardiff ground.
