Jaipur , Free OPD and IPD facility will be started in all categories of government medical institutions in the state from April 1. Initially, dry run of the system will be done in a period of one month, in which the problems faced in implementation will be identified and resolved. The formal launch of the scheme is proposed to be done from May 1, 2022.
Medical Minister Parsadi Lal Meena informed that with the announcement of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot to make OPD and IPD facilities available in all categories of government medical institutions completely free of cost to all the residents of the state, medical facilities will be available to the people of the state without spending any money.
Meena said that from April 1, no fee will have to be paid for registration in OPD and IPD in government medical institutions. He said that all the medicines and tests in government medical institutions would be done free of cost to the patients coming to OPD in state medical institutions and admitted in IPD.
The Health Minister said that the doctors working in the government hospitals would ensure that the medicines available in the drug distribution centers of the hospital are prescribed to the patients. He said that if necessary in special circumstances, other medicines would be purchased and made available to the patient as per rules.
Meena said that facilities operated on PPP mode in various government hospitals like CT scan, MRI and dialysis etc. will also be made available to the patients free of cost. He said that the concerned PPP partner would be paid the fee charged by him from the patient for this by the concerned medical institution and necessary budget would be made available for this.
Meena said that this facility would be available free of cost to all the residents of the state. But patients coming from outside the state will be charged as per rules. He said that Jan Aadhar card or other documents of the patient would be taken as proof of the patient being a resident of the state. Fee for other facilities not related to patient’s treatment like parking, canteen, cottage ward etc. will remain the same as per rules of Rajasthan Medical Relief Society.
