Locals reached immediately after the accident
Odisha’s RSS worker Ravinarayan says that this train accident took place near Mahanaga village of Balasore. Many Sangh workers live in this village. At a distance of 3 kilometers from the spot, there is the home of the Karyavah of Balasore district of the Union. After the accident, he along with some workers reached the spot. When he saw that the situation was dire, he appealed to the workers to come to Mahanaga as soon as possible through WhatsApp messages and calls. This accident happened at around 6.50 pm. Sangh workers had reached by 7 o’clock.
Injured were taken to the hospital by motorcycles and vehicles
The Sangh workers took the help of the local people. By opening the doors of the train, they started taking out the injured. He started the rescue even before the police and other rescue teams arrived. People started taking the injured to the hospital with the help of their motorcycles, vehicles and tractors. The NDRF team reached the spot at around 8.30 pm. By the time the ambulance reached there, the workers started taking the injured to the hospital.
Where the rescue workers were reluctant to go, the worker reached there first.
Ravinarayan told that the workers of the Sangh continued to help in the rescue operation of NDRF. Ramesh, a worker of the Sangh, showed great bravery. Actually three bogies of the train had climbed on top of each other. Evacuating the people trapped there was a difficult task. The rescuers were also hesitating to climb on the bogie, but Sangh worker Ramesh climbed on the bogie without hesitation and started rescuing people from inside. After this, other rescue teams including NDRF also started evacuating people along with Ramesh.
Crowd of people donating blood started in the hospital due to a message
Local people, villagers and social workers were gathered at another accident site, when a message came in a group of RSS at around 9.15 a.m. that the people injured in the accident needed blood. Thousands of youths started reaching hospitals in Balasore following a message received on WhatsApp as instructions. By 10 pm, 300 to 400 youths reached the hospital in Balasore to donate blood. Apart from this, all the workers also reached Soro Hospital. Doctors were also surprised to see the crowd of blood donors.
people arranging food and water
Local RSS worker Harendra says that many people have been helping people since night. RSS workers helped in the rescue and donated blood in the night, then from morning the same people started arranging food and water for the relatives of the passengers and the rescue personnel. Thousands of workers started delivering food and water. Apart from this, RSS workers are also helping in contacting the relatives of the hospitalized passengers.
