new Delhi. The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ made on Kashmiri Pandits remains a topic of much discussion. As much as the film is being liked, some people are also criticizing it. In such a situation, the Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD), an organization of Kashmiri Pandits, has prepared to raise a big demand in front of the government for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits.
The organization responded on the issues related to this film by holding a press conference on Monday and in the meantime Utpal Kaul, Coordinator of GKPD in India said that, our request to the Government of India is that there should be ‘One Place Settlement’. We will now have a city of our own, so we have prepared a document. We are also talking to town planners regarding this. For the last 2 years, I have met many people and gathered information about how Kashmiri Hindus can go back.
Kaul said, how can universities, colleges be built in that city, how will houses be built etc. Where this new city will be there, it will become an example for the world and the tricolor will be hoisted there. We want to go back to that earth. There are 10 lakh Kashmiri Pandits, they all want to go to their Kashmir. We know how we will make Kashmir a paradise.
The government and all political parties say that now everything will be fine, you all will go to your home. But our people no longer have homes. 20 thousand houses have been burnt, some houses have been occupied. We don’t even have the addresses of the houses.
Elaborating this further, Surendra Kaul, cofounder of GKPD said that, after 2 years of hard work, an expert task force of town planning has prepared this document. It was discussed in our society, everyone kept their point of view as to what should happen. Now we will put that document before the government.
Many policies were discussed regarding this, industrial policy was read, what is the policy of education? Working on all these, a place has been marked. No one will be removed from anywhere while preparing it. We have identified it through satellite imagery. Now there will be talks with the government.
On behalf of the organization, it was said that the true incident has been shown in this film. This film is not promoting hatred towards any society and neither is it intended to. Only 5 percent of what has happened to us is shown in the film. At the same time, he has expressed his gratitude on the love received from all over the country.
Also, a judicial commission should be formed to bring justice to the people who died in this incident and the guilty should be punished. It was also shared by the organization that about 750 victims were introduced to Vivek Agnihotri ji for this film. We requested him to make this film.
Regarding the funding of the film, it was clarified by the organization that, GKPD has provided only logistic support, we have nothing to do with any wing, we are not associated with any party. We cannot forget what happened to us, we are against Global Terrorism because it is very dangerous. This movie unites the whole society.
“Terrorism was started from 1988. Target killing of our society from March 89. Whose government was there at that time? We don’t want to get into blame game. At that time there was no phone, no internet it is being said that this Jagmohan But it was happening before that, not 1990, since 1988, its fire had reached Hanre Darwaza.
Surendra Kaul further said that, this film should not be seen from the point of view of Hindu-Muslim, Hindu Muslim is not being polarized in the film. We are not against any society. This movie shows system failure. The truth of history can be painful, it does not mean that you should stop teaching history.
However, thanks were also expressed on behalf of the organization that the Chief Ministers of many states made this film tax free. He has also asked the Chief Ministers of other states to make the tax free.
