New Delhi. There is good news for the people of Delhi NCR. There will be a reduction in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi and its surrounding areas from March 7, 2024. This decision was taken to provide relief to consumers from high CNG prices. Earlier the price of CNG in Delhi was ₹76.59 per kg, which will now reduce to ₹74.09 per kg. Similarly, in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the price of CNG will reduce from Rs 81.20 per kg to Rs 78.70 per kg.
Apart from this, a reduction in CNG prices will also be seen in Gurugram. The price will reduce from ₹82.62 per kg to ₹80.12 per kg. The price in Rewari will reduce from ₹81.20 per kg to ₹78.70 per kg. In Karnal and Kaithal also it will reduce from ₹82.93 per kg to ₹80.43 per kg. These price cuts will be effective from 6 am on March 7, 2024.
The decision comes after Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) announced a significant cut in CNG prices on Tuesday. MGL supplies CNG to Mumbai and its surrounding areas. Following the decline in natural gas prices, city gas companies’ operating costs declined, prompting them to pass benefits on to consumers. Earlier, despite the cut in natural gas prices, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri had expressed dissatisfaction over city gas companies for not passing on benefits to consumers.
