Dhamtari. In view of Holi festival, the team of Food and Drug Administration Department took investigation action on 23 February at various hotels and shops in Dhamtari city and Nagar Panchayat Kurud. During investigation, the team found four non-standard food items including gram flour, murku at a grocery shop and bakery shop in Dhamtari.
At the same time, notices have been served to the operators operating the shop without a license. This action of the department has created a stir among the shop operators.
Holi festival is near. The preparations for the hotels and shopkeepers have started regarding this. Due to the festival, many shopkeepers try to consume fake and spoiled food items, keeping this in mind, on February 23, Food Safety Officer Phaneshwar Pithora, Akshay Kumar Soni, Sample Assistant Girja Shankar Verma, Office Deputy Director Food and Drug Administration team Dhamtari Checked the food items by raiding various shops in the city and Kurud Nagar.
According to information received from Food Safety Officer Akshya Soni, inspection of food complexes, hotels, restaurants, confectionery stores and grocery shops along with mobile food laboratory was done. During the inspection, shop operators have been directed to do better cleanliness of the work place first.
The use of quality food items has been said to be used in making sweets and snacks. Inedible colors are not to be used. At the same time, a warning has been given in the grocery shops not to sell without batch number, without license holder, registered food items, if the expiry date is not mentioned.
Investigation action at various shops
A total of 50 samples were tested from Hari Om Traders Ratnabandha Chowk, Swastik Bhojanalaya New Bus Stand, Nandlal Kirana Store Bastar Road Dhamtari, Shree Bhagwati Sweets, Hinduja Restaurant, Rohit Bakery Kurud, Neeraj Traders, Vaaguru Traders Kurud etc. of Dhamtari city.
In this, four samples including gram flour of Nandlal grocery stores and Murku of Hariom Traders have been found to be non-standard. Notice has been given to Nandlal Kirana and Rohit Bakery without license.
