IPL 2024: The match was played between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings team won this match by 3 wickets. After the exciting match played between the two teams, GT captain Shubman Gill looked quite disappointed with the team’s performance. In this match, GT gave Punjab Kings a target of 200 runs to win, but the team still lost the match. Shubman Gill said after the three-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings that his team had scored the required runs but could not defend the score due to dropped catches.
What did Shubman Gill say?
Titans fielders dropped at least three catches in the match against Punjab Kings. Gill said after the match that we dropped some catches. It is never easy when you drop a catch on such a wicket. It is difficult to defend runs in these circumstances. The new ball was providing some help but there is scope for improvement. He said that I think 200 was a very good score. We were in the contest till the 15th over. When you drop the catch you will be in trouble. Because of the way Nalkande bowled in the last match, we went to him for the last over.
Chasing Titans’ target of 200 runs, Shashank Singh took Punjab Kings to the winning score of 200 runs for seven wickets with one ball remaining by playing an unbeaten inning of 61 runs in 29 balls with six fours and four sixes. Shashank made a partnership of 39 runs with Jitesh Sharma for the sixth wicket. In this match, Jitesh scored 16 runs in eight balls with two sixes.
