Rajkot. Gujarat Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel has been admitted to a private hospital in Rajkot after suffering a brain stroke, where his condition is stable. Doctors gave this information on Sunday. Raghavji Patel (65), a cabinet minister in the Bhupendra Patel-led state government, also holds the charge of animal husbandry, fisheries, rural housing and rural development departments.
Dr. Sanjay Tilala, neurosurgeon at Synergy Hospital, Rajkot, said, ‘Raghavji Patel suffered hemorrhage in the right side of the brain at around 10.30 pm on Saturday night in Jamnagar. He was given first aid at a hospital in Jamnagar and from there he was admitted to our hospital. Dr. Tilala said, ‘He was admitted to our hospital at around 4 am on Sunday. He is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition is stable. Raghavji Patel represents Jamnagar (Rural) assembly seat.

Voted against Ahmed Patel
Raghavji Patel left the Congress and joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the assembly elections in September 2017. Raghavji Patel, as the then Congress MLA, had voted against senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel during the Rajya Sabha elections in August 2017. However, Ahmed Patel had won the election. Raghavji Patel had contested the 2017 assembly elections as a BJP candidate and was defeated by Vallabh Dharaviya of Congress.

Later, Raghavji Patel won the 2019 by-election due to Dharaviya’s resignation. He was re-elected from this seat in the 2022 assembly elections. Raghavji Patel was included in the Gujarat Cabinet and given the charge of an important department. Now suddenly his health has deteriorated. However, doctors say that the health of Gujarat Minister Raghavji Patel is currently stable.
