Lucknow Super Giants scored 163 runs for 5 wickets
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants scored 163 runs for 5 wickets with the help of Nicholas Pooran’s unbeaten 32-run innings after the half-century of Marcus Stoinis (58 runs). After winning the toss and opting to bat, the LSG team won the match with the help of Stoinis’ (43 balls) first half-century of this IPL phase and a partnership of 73 runs in 62 balls for the third wicket with his captain KL Rahul (33 runs in 31 balls). Score was scored in which in the end Puran scored unbeaten 32 runs in 22 balls.
Umesh and Nalkande took 2-2 wickets
Umesh Yadav and Darshan Nalkande took two wickets each for Gujarat Titans. Rashid Khan got one wicket. On the second ball of the very first over of Umesh Yadav (22/2), the in-form Quinton De Kock hit a boundary at square leg but after one ball the batsman reached the pavilion. Devdutt Padikkal hit a four on the first ball of Umesh’s next over, but this bowler took revenge on the very next ball and tempted him to touch the bat and Vijay Shankar did not make a mistake in taking the catch in the slip. Due to this, the team’s score in three overs was 18 runs for two wickets.
Rahul and Stoinis made a good partnership
Playing with patience, Rahul hit three attractive fours on Spencer Johnson, which added 13 runs in the fourth over. Rahul got a good partner in Stoinis, with whom both of them played cautiously and partnered and helped in managing their team’s innings. Rahul was looking in good form but as soon as he tried to score runs quickly, he was out. In the 13th over, the right-handed batsman hit a big shot off Darshan Nalkande but failed to deliver it from distance and Rahul Tewatia took a brilliant catch at long on.
Stoinis got life on 43 runs
Stoinis got a lease of life on 43 runs and this Australian player took full advantage of this opportunity and completed his half-century in 40 balls by hitting a skyscraper shot over Nalkande’s head. Stoinis then hit another six on Nalkande over wide long on. But after hitting another six, this young bowler finally got him caught by wicketkeeper BR Sharath on the next ball. Puran made some brilliant hits to take LSG to this score.
