Gwalior Fourth Line News: Priyank Sharma, Gwalior Naiduniya. Survey work has been completed on the fourth railway line between Dholpur-Gwalior-Jhansi to Bina with a length of 321 km, but due to budget constraints, work on this line will not be started yet. After the survey, the detail project report of this line will be prepared. After it is ready, it will be sent to the zonal headquarters located in Prayagraj. After getting permission from there, the work of this line will be started. In the recent railway budget, only Rs 10 crore has been approved for this line.
In view of the increasing traffic on the Delhi-Mumbai main track, the fourth railway line will be laid between Dholpur and Bina at a cost of Rs 4869.95 crore. In view of the increasing traffic on the Delhi-Mumbai main rail route, the work of laying the third railway line between Dholpur, Jhansi and Bina is going on. The survey of the fourth railway line between this section was approved in the Railway Budget of 2021. The work of the fourth line is to be completed in three phases. In the first phase, a 107 km long fourth track between Mathura and Dholpur will be laid at a cost of Rs 2949.95 crore. In the second phase, the track of 321.80 km between Dholpur-Jhansi-Bina of Jhansi division will be completed at a cost of Rs.4869 crore. When the fourth rail line work will be completed, then both goods train and passenger train will be able to operate simultaneously on different tracks in the same direction. With this, the goods train will not have to stand for the crossing. At present, the traffic of the train is more till Gwalior-Jhansi and Bhopal on the Delhi-Mumbai rail route. Apart from this, the operation of goods train on this route is also widespread. When the fourth track is ready, traffic will be shifted to the third and fourth rail lines. However, budget constraints may definitely come in the way of the project.
